A male pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck on River Road Friday afternoon. A call to 9-1-1 came in at 12:44 p.m. Keizer Police responded to the Northbound lanes of River Road where it intersects with Cummings Lane North and the Keizer Towne Square Business Complex. The pedestrian was transported by Keizer Fire District paramedics to Salem Health where he died from his injuries.
The male driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stopped immediately and remained on scene. He is cooperating with investigators.
This incident is being investigated by members of the Marion County CRASH Team. Specifically, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The Oregon State Police and the Marion County District Attorney’s Office are assisting.
The names of the involved individuals are not being released at this time.
All lanes of River Road North were opened for vehicular traffic at approximately 3:15 p.m.
