Oregon Lottery Launches New Mobile App

Posted on December 1, 2018

Checking Oregon Lottery tickets to see if you’ve won just got a whole lot more convenient.
The Oregon Lottery has released a new smart phone application that will provide players with a way to scan tickets to see if they are winners, finding the closest Lottery retailer, and giving players information about Oregon Lottery games and promotions.
“We are always looking for ways to make the Lottery more fun and convenient,” said Digital Marketing Manager Shad Barnes. “This app is designed to make the play experience as fun and easy as we can and is available for both iPhone and Android phones. Through the app, we’re able to give players an opportunity to win a variety of Lottery game tickets including packs of Scratch-its.”
In addition to the game-related features, the Lottery has purposefully included responsible gaming aspects in the mobile app. “From the beginning of the development of the app,” said Barnes, “it was of the utmost importance follow the Lottery’s mission to increase our player base in a responsible and sustainable manner. With that in mind, the app has tools to help players calculate how much their play may cost and help them set a budget, and the app’s system has a variety of ways to verify age.”
The new app features include:
• Scanning tickets to see if they are winners
• Providing directions to Lottery retail locations
• Notifying app users of high jackpots, Lottery-sponsored events and other exciting Lottery news
• Integrated timer and budget calculator tool
• Lottery game information
The new apps can be found on the Apple or Android app stores. Lottery games are not available for purchase on the mobile app.
Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned more nearly $12 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and habitat restoration. For more information on the Oregon Lottery visit www.oregonlottery.org
