On Friday, February 1, 2019, just before noon, McMinnville Police responded to 1501 SW Baker Street #61 McMinnville, OR on the report of an assault that just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the female victim, who is not being identified for her safety. The officers learned that the victim was at the residence as part of her job duties and she was invited into the residence. Once inside the residence she was attacked by the male suspect who was identified as Manuel Catano (73).
During the investigation officers were able to establish probable cause to arrest Catano on the following charges…
• Kidnapping in the 2nd degree SRA $10,000,
• Assault in the 4th degree SRA $5,000,
• Menacing SRA $5,000, and
• Unlawful use of a weapon SRA $7,500
Catano was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the listed charges Monday, February 4th.
