Oregon State Police say dense fog contributed to the death of 80-year-old Eugene Mason of Salem Monday morning on highway 22E near milepost 3.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Kenworth with a 53-foot trailer, rear-ended Mason’s Volkswagen Beetle.
One lane of the highway was closed for around 3 hours following the crash.
