On January 8, 2019, at approximately 12:50 pm, Salem Police officers were dispatched to a residence on Polo Ct SE on the report of a possible shooting. When officers arrived they located a woman at the location suffering from injuries. The woman directed officers inside a residence where a male was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The woman was transported to Salem Health for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation police do not believe the public is in danger. The involved people’s names will not be released until next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.
