Authorities found a 35-year-old Dayton man dead from a single gunshot wound Saturday night.
Around 11 p.m., officers responded to a shooting complaint at a McMinnville home in the 1200 block of NE 10th Avenue.
Police said those on scene have been cooperating with law enforcement and there are no suspects at this time. A number of family members were at the residence Saturday night, said Capt. Tim Symons with McMinnville Police.
Officials will not confirm the shooting was a homicide until the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office completes an examination, said Symons .
There is no danger to the public at this time, he said.
The McMinnville Police Department was assisted by Oregon State Police, Newberg-Dundee Police Department, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the Yamhill County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
