Salem, Oregon (Feb. 6, 2019) – On Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, Salem citizens are invited to attend the eighth annual Breakfast with the Chief at the Salem Convention Center doors open at 7 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Salem Police Foundation (SPF) that helps to support the Salem Police Department (SPD) by financing extra-budgetary items.
The hour-long program begins promptly at 7:30 with a presentation of the flag by the Salem Police Honor Guard. The event will feature a complimentary breakfast, a message from Salem Police Chief Jerry Moore and Salem Mayor Chuck Bennett, and a short video of the accomplishments of the past year. Attendees will have an opportunity to donate to upcoming projects. Citizens will have a chance to tour the Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) and visit with human and K9 officers.
Generous citizens have helped the SPF purchase critical safety and crime investigatory tools such as crime cameras, K9 officer dogs, a fingerprint fuming chamber, Vampire Forensics Fingerprint Recovery System and their latest fundraising effort, the MCV.
