On Monday, August 26, 2019 at approximately 11:57 A.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a serious injury crash on Hwy 214 near milepost 38.
Preliminary investigation shows a Toyota Corolla, operated by Doyle Lewis (82) of Salem, was traveling northbound on Hwy 214 when he lost control of his vehicle and it crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Mark Clark (69) of Salem.
Clark was transported by Life Flight to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Brandi Wilcut (29) of Salem, was transported by ground to Silverton Hospital with serious injuries.
Lewis was not injured in the crash.
OSP was assisted by ODOT and Silverton Fire Department.
