On September 2nd, 2019 at approximately 8:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to the report of a serious motorcycle crash near mile post 9 of Breitenbush Road SE. The crash was discovered by another motorcycle rider who came across the crash.
Prior to deputies arriving on scene, the involved motorcycle rider was pronounced as deceased. The involved motorcycle rider has been identified as Nathan Tonroy, a 41-year-old man from Mill City, Oregon.
During the initial investigation, deputies determined the rider of the 2006 Yamaha motorcycle left the roadway after failing to negotiate a curve. Deputies believe speed was likely a contributing factor to the crash.
