Yesterday (5/11/20) At 4:29 PM MCFD#1 responded to a motor home fire in the 7500 block of Lakeside Drive NE. Initial reports indicated a motor home fully involved immediately adjacent to a manufactured home. Responding crews reported a visible column of smoke from several miles away.
First arriving crews found a fully involved motor home burning and extending to a manufactured home. Crews stretched hand lines and made an aggressive attack in the motor home fire and extinguished the fire on the exterior of the manufactured home.
The occupants of the motor home were not present at the time of the fire and the manufactured home was vacant. MCFD#1 responded to the fire with three engines, three water tenders, one medic unit, three chief officers and a fire marshal with a total of 21 personnel.
There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters.
The motor home was a complete loss and the fire remains under investigation.
