Marion Co. Sheriff’s Office – 10/13/22 9:30 AM
Yesterday, October 12, 2022, detectives from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office made their second arrest in connection with the shooting death of Eduardo Garcia. The March 9th, 2022, shooting occurred in East Salem Service District on Hayesville Drive NE near Reimann Street NE.
Following a several month investigation detectives identified Yahir Cruz-Rosales (18) and John Juarez-Juarez (18) of Salem as involved in the incident.
John Juarez-Juarez was arrested on October 4, 2022, after being contacted by investigators on Salem Heights Ave S in Salem. Juarez-Juarez is being held in the Marion County Jail. On October 11, 2022, a Marion County Grand Jury indicted Juarez-Juarez for the following charges:
- Murder in the Second Degree
- Attempted Murder in the First Degree
- Unlawful use of a Weapon
Yahir Cruz-Rosales was arrested by investigators just before 10:00 am on October 12, 2022, on Front Street NE, Salem. Yahir Cruz-Rosales has been lodged at the Marion County Jail. On October 11, 2022, the same Marion County Grand Jury indicted Cruz-Rosales for the following charges:
- Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm
- Attempted Murder in the First Degree with a Firearm
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon with a Firearm
Cruz-Rosales is scheduled to be arraigned on October 13, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at the Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
