Around 1000 Customers in the Mid-Willamette Valley are Without Electricity Caused by High Winds (Update)

High winds have caused hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses to be without power around Oregon as of noon today.

Portland General Electric reports there are approximately 1,000 customers without power around the Salem-Keizer area. Statewide, there are 2.885 active outages impacting 117,846 customers in the company’s service area.

Salem Electric reports power has been restored to their customers.

Pacific Power reports there are 673 outages impacting over 25, 430 customers. The company reports in the Mid-Willamette Valley approximately 1,000 customers are without power.

The wind advisory remains in effect until 7 pm this evening for southwest winds 20 to 25 miles per hours with gusts as high as 45 mph. Winds will gradually ease late this afternoon and evening.
