On February 27, 2023, around 10:23 am, Deputy Larned of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office attempted to arrest a theft suspect, Neal Walter Wells II, (29 years old). Neal resisted arrest and fled the scene in a 2002, red, Chrysler Sebring, with Oregon plates WEV159, while pinning Deputy Larned between Neal’s vehicle and Deputy Larned’s patrol vehicle. Deputy Larned was banged up but is going to be ok physically. Neal is a white male adult, 5’ 3”, 135 lbs, brown hair with a beard and last seen wearing a blue Nike sweatshirt. The Oregon plate WEV159 doesn’t belong to the vehicle Neal fled in today and he is well known for putting other license plates from other vehicle’s and putting them on this one he fled in today. Neal is known to frequent the Salem area. He was last seen in the area of Silverton Rd NE / Fisher Rd NE.
