Salem, Ore. — Detectives from the Salem Police Department Felony Crimes Unit are investigating an incident of arson at a west Salem business.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on February 1, a fire was set to a storage area adjacent to the La Hacienda Restaurant located at 475 Taggart DR NW. Video surveillance shows a man walking up to the shed next to the restaurant then throwing an incendiary device into the structure.
Fortunately, the fire extinguished itself and caused minimal damage. Nonetheless, detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
The description of the suspect shown in the camera footage is as follows:
- Adult man
- Eyeglasses with dark frames
- Black, skull cap worn inside out
- Black, hooded sweatshirt
- Black pants and shoes
The suspect also wore blue, latex gloves.
