Stolen Vehicle Stop Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Guns

Salem, Ore. — A Salem Police officer on routine patrol spotted a stolen vehicle on Monday night, April 17, at approximately 9:00 p.m. The vehicle, a minivan, was traveling southbound near the area of Broadway and Market STS NE with a female driver and two occupants.

Officers were able to initiate a stop a few blocks away. A woman and two men exited the vehicle without incident. With consent to search the vehicle, a shotgun, a handgun, and a supply of ammunition were seized. A suspicious device was also located in the rear of the van. The Salem Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene to render the device safe.

The arrested subjects and their listed charges are as follows:

  • Sean Ethan Burris, age 25, unlawful possession of a firearm and prohibited possession of a firearm
  • Randi Renee Ramsey, age 27, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
  • David Byron Wood, age 52, outstanding parole violation warrant

Burris and Ramsey were lodged at the Marion County Jail. Wood, however, was transported to the Polk County Jail due to the jurisdiction the warrant.
