Salem, Ore. — Salem Police patrol officers arrested Mathieu Aaron Wolf yesterday afternoon, June 22, as part of an investigation into an armed robbery.
On June 21, 2023 at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the Jay Bricks clothing store inside the Salem Center Mall on the report of an armed robbery involving two, partially-masked men. One of the men, held an employee at gunpoint while merchandise was taken from rack displays. With the stolen items in hand, the suspects then fled on foot from the location.
On June 22, officers spotted one of the suspects, Wolf, age 19, walking in the vicinity of 24th ST and Center ST NE and wearing some of the stolen merchandise. Wolf was arrested without incident and with a handgun on his person.
Wolf was lodged at the Marion County Jail on the charge of first-degree robbery. His arraignment is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
The incident remains an active investigation, and no further information is being released.
