Grant Project Process Considered at Salem City Council

• Public hearing on proposed amendment to Sign Code (SRC 900) and Procedures for Land Use Applications and Legislative Land Use Proposals (SRC 300)
• Update on the City’s Sidewalk Repair Program
• Proposed process and criteria for selecting projects as part of the pedestrian crossings, sidewalk infill, and sidewalk replacement categories contained in the 2022 Salem Safety and Livability Bond Measure.
• World Polio Day proclamation.
• Application for $214,750 under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant to reduce fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use, and improve energy efficiency.
• Ground lease with Watt EV Salem Inc. for unimproved ground at Salem Municipal Airport to develop a charging depot for electric trucks.
• Authorize City Manager to execute documents for US Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant with Marion County for $99,759 award of which $89,223 will go to the City of Salem. The City has used JAG funds largely to maintain the Police Department’s Community Service Officer program.
• Authorize Portland General Electric to install electric vehicle chargers on PGE-owned police located in the public right of way.
