McNary High School Freshman Football Players Arrested

Posted on November 2, 2023

Today, after a two-week long investigation, five McNary High School freshman football players were taken into custody on criminal charges.

The crimes took place between August and October in the boy’s locker room at McNary High School.  The victims were fellow freshman football players who were subjected to physical harassment.  In addition, one student was a victim of not only harassment but assault in the fourth degree.  When the Salem-Keizer School District learned of the gross student-athlete misconduct, they cancelled freshman football activities for safety reasons and then collaborated with the Keizer Police Department to investigate the allegations.

The arrested students are all Keizer residents; four were fourteen years of age and the fifth was a fifteen-year-old. The arrested students were processed at the Keizer Police Department and then transported to the Marion County Juvenile Department where they were released to intake staff.
