Willamina Man Sentenced to 7 1/2 Years in Prison for Christmas Day Shooting.

DALLAS (OR) – Stephen Darrell Price, 36, has been sentenced to serve 90 months (7 ½ years) in prison for shooting a man in Grand Ronde on December 25, 2022 after a verbal altercation on the victim’s property.

Price, of Willamina, was found guilty following a jury trial last week in Polk County Circuit Court of Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangering, and Menacing. Judge Monte S. Campbell sentenced Price on Monday according to Oregon’s Measure 11 minimum mandatory sentencing law. He will not be eligible for any form of early release or sentence reduction. He will also be required to serve a three year term of Post-Prison Supervision upon his release.

The case was investigated by the Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department, Oregon State Police, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, and Hillsboro Police Department. The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Aaron Felton.
