| We have liftoff! This week, Salem-Keizer School District celebrated the launch of CTEC – Career Technical Education Center’s aviation program at its satellite location at the Salem Municipal Airport. The aviation program is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to give students a high-quality immersive experience with full-motion flight simulators, drone technology and aircraft maintenance equipment and activities.
“I’m very passionate about providing our youth with the skills, experiences, and certifications they need to access a rewarding career,” said CTEC Principal Rhonda Rhodes. According to recently released data from the Oregon Department of Education, students in Salem-Keizer Public Schools who concentrated in an area of study through Career and Technical Education programs graduated at a rate greater than 95 percent for the class of 2023. |
