Marion County Announces Road Closure for Bridge Replacement Project on Hazelgreen Rd NE

Posted on May 3, 2024

MARION COUNTY, OR – Marion County has received federal funding to replace the aging timber pile bridge over the Pudding River on Hazelgreen Rd NE near Torvend Rd NE. Starting on May 13, 2024, Hazelgreen Rd and Torvend Rd will be closed to replace the current bridge over the Pudding River.

The current bridge, constructed in 1969, has served the community well for decades. However, due to its narrow design and ongoing maintenance challenges caused by timber decay and traffic impacts, it is time for a much-needed upgrade.

The Hazelgreen Rd NE Pudding River Bridge Replacement Project will replace the current bridge with a new concrete bridge. Torvend Rd NE will be realigned to accommodate the new bridge. The project will necessitate a temporary road closure on Hazelgreen Rd NE and Torvend Rd NE. Torvend Rd NE will reopen by June 30, 2024, and Hazelgreen Rd NE will reopen by October 31, 2024.

This project represents a significant investment in the infrastructure of Marion County and underscores our commitment to the safety and well-being of our residents and visitors. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this time and look forward to delivering a new bridge that will serve our community for generations to come.
