Oregon State Fair Job Fair is Set for August 3rd

Hundreds of jobs available until all positions are filled

[SALEM, OR] – The Oregon State Fair is hosting its annual job fair on August 3rd. This is the perfect opportunity to earn money while having fun. Come on down to the Pavilion to interview for Fair jobs or work with our partner, Rainier Amusements, at the carnival.

Fair jobs: 

  • Livestock Crew Member – care and maintenance of livestock and horse barns
  • Fair Mascot, Sunny the Sunflower – must be 5’6” to 5’11” with a sunny disposition
  • Info booth – provide courteous information to fairgoers about all things fair-related
  • Parking attendant – provide parking directions and exceptional customer service as fairgoers arrive or leave
  • Concessions – Work for one of our concessionaires, Golden Grill, or Sweet Cheeks, which serves everything from sweet treats to BBQ and pizza

Rainier Amusements Carnival jobs: 

  • Ride operator
  • Ticket seller
  • Game operator
  • Food concessions

Prospective Rainier Amusements employees must be able to stand for long periods, be enthusiastic and polite, and work well with others. There will be two shifts that run every other day, so prospective employees must be able to work full days. Please bring two forms of ID to apply to these positions.

Interviews for both Fair and Carnival jobs begin at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until all positions are filled. Both Fair and Rainier Amusements interviews will be held in the Pavilion at the Fairgrounds off Sunnyview Road. 

Fair employees must be at least 16 years old to work in minor-approved departments; and 18 years old to work in all departments.
