The next phase of work in Minto-Brown Island Park to update parking lot 3 is scheduled for Monday, August 26! This work is thanks to the voters of Salem as part of the 2022 Safety and Livability Bond and should be complete by the fall.

During construction, parking is available in a new overflow area near parking lot #3. Parking Lot #2 and Parking Lot #1 are also available for use
Project Information
Thanks to the voter approved Safety and Livability Bond passed in 2022, Minto-Brown Island Park’s parking lots are getting an upgrade.
The paving projects, at Parking Lot #2 (dog park area) and Parking Lot #3 (main lot), include stormwater drainage improvements and stormwater treatment, accessibility upgrades that connect the parking lot with the trail and pathway system, landscaping around the new perimeter of the lots, and bicycle parking.
Construction will begin in late May, 2024, with the goal of avoiding major impacts on park users. During construction, the park will remain open but parking availability in lot #2 and lot #3 may be limited.
Please remember to keep your dog on a leash while outside the dog area.
