Cherriots Nationally Recognized for Customer Satisfaction and Service Improvement

Posted on September 4, 2024

TransPro, a transit industry leader in consumer insights and advisory services, recently recognized Cherriots with seven awards, including three first-place honors.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the hard work our employees do to ensure our customers have the best experience they can have when riding with Cherriots,” said Maria Hinojos Pressey, board president of Cherriots. “To lead in this area amongst our fellow Oregon transit agencies shows how caring and responsive our team is.”

Cherriots secured first place in three categories: Highest Customer Satisfaction; Best Improvement in Customer Trips: 2022 – 2023; and Best Improvement in Service Effectiveness: 2018 – 2023.

Additionally, the agency earned four second-place awards for Highest Net Promoter Score, Most Improved Job Connectivity, Most Improved Passenger Trips, and Most Improved Job Access from Downtown. Cherriots also received a third-place award for Most Improved Low-Income Worker Job Access.

The awards were presented by TransPro at their inaugural summit in June. TransPro tracks key performance metrics such as Net Promoter Score, service frequency, organizational goals, and service outcomes that are crucial to the community. The firm uses TransDASH, a comprehensive dashboard, to measure customer, community, and taxpayer value of participating transit agencies across the country, including TriMet, Lane Transit District, VIA in San Antonio, Capital District Transportation Authority in Albany, New York, and RTD in Denver.

Notably, Cherriots achieved a Net Promoter Score of 52, significantly higher than the average score of 29 among scored agencies. The NPS, which ranges from -100 to 100, measures customer satisfaction and loyalty.

“We’re committed to building on this success and further enhancing the transit experience for all our riders,” said Bobbi Kidd, Cherriots strategic initiatives administrator, who represented the agency at the TransDASH summit and awards ceremony. “These awards validate our commitment to continuous improvement and serving our community with excellence.”
