On November 9, 2024, at about 9:30 AM, Dallas Police responded to a shots fired call in the 1400 Block of SE Monmouth Cutoff. Upon arrival, officers attempted to revive a person who died at the scene. A suspect was identified and taken into custody on State Street in Salem.
The suspect and victim knew each other. There is no reason to believe anyone else was involved and there is no ongoing risk to the public related to this event.
