These scammers typically pose as booksellers requesting bulk orders of your book—often asking you to send personal or payment information, or suggesting you use a specific (and fraudulent) distribution service. Some even claim to represent high-profile retailers like Barnes & Noble.
Please know: if something feels off, it probably is. These scams are sophisticated and often convincing, but a few red flags can help you spot them:
*Generic email addresses or poorly written messages
*Pressure to respond quickly
*Requests for payment or unusual fulfillment methods
*Claims that your book must be republished or reformatted
