The City of Dallas is pleased to announce Jennifer Ward as the new Public Works Director. Jennifer will officially begin her new role on June 24, 2025, as part of a planned transition following the upcoming retirement of the current Public Works Director on June 30, 2025.
Jennifer Ward has served as a key member of the Dallas Public Works Department for the past three and a half years, contributing significantly to the City’s infrastructure and services. Her deep understanding of the department’s operations, combined with her commitment to public service, makes her well equipped to lead the department into the future.
“I’ve been a part of Dallas Public Works for the last three and a half years. I’ve been fortunate to love the work I do and genuinely enjoy the people I work with,” said Jennifer Ward. “As Public Works Director, I’m looking forward to advancing the projects and services of the City, strengthening community partnerships, and developing supportive relationships with the men and women who anchor our community – the Public Works employees of the City of Dallas.”
“I am confident that the city manager has made an excellent choice and I look forward to seeing where she takes the department into the future,” commented Mayor Slack.
