July 14 Council Meeting is Virtual Only

  • Virtual meeting. The July 14 City Council meeting will be virtual only. Air conditioning problems at Loucks Auditorium in the Salem Public Library, where the meeting was scheduled to be held, prompted the change. The decision was made for the health and safety of the Salem community with forecasted temperatures next Monday expected to be in the upper 80s to 90s.

What’s on the July 14 Agenda?

  • The Salem City Council will consider agreements to fund recycling service improvements, support an Oregon State University forever chemical (PFAS) study and construct missing sidewalks just south of State Street and 49th Avenue SE. Appointments to the Budget Committee, Library Advisory Board and the Travel and Tourism Promotion Advisory Board are also on the agenda.
  • The Salem Housing Authority Commission agenda includes a public hearing on the Salem Housing Authority’s 2025-26 Annual Public Agency Housing Plan, Annual Capital Fund Plan and Moving to Work Supplement to its annual plan.
