An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening for the Portland/Vancouver Metro area, the Willamette Valley, the Columbia River Gorge, and surrounding valleys.
The National Weather Service says temperatures could reach 95 to 102 degrees, with overnight lows staying warm at 60 to 70 degrees. Forecasters warn the conditions could significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Updates are available at weather.gov/portland.
