MEDFORD, Ore. — August 6, 2025 — Pacific Power has unveiled its new Wildfire Intelligence Center, designed to enhance real-time wildfire monitoring and improve coordination with emergency agencies during fire season.
Since May, the utility’s 15-member wildfire team has tracked more than 1,300 wildfires across the region. Their efforts have supported 35 emergency power shutoffs and prevented 35 others through swift analysis and decision-making.
“The Wildfire Intelligence Center allows us to make smarter, faster decisions and reduce the number of emergency power shutoffs,” said Erik Brookhouse, Pacific Power’s Vice President of Operations. “We’re using real-time data to minimize impacts to customers while prioritizing safety.”
The team operates in a fast-paced environment and is expanding toward 24/7 coverage. The center also serves as a hub for improved communication with local, state, and federal agencies to accelerate wildfire response efforts.
Pacific Power says the center reflects its broader commitment to wildfire prevention, infrastructure upgrades, and delivering safe, reliable electricity in the face of increasing wildfire threats.
