MARION COUNTY, Ore. — A wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in Marion County left one man dead and another critically injured early Tuesday morning.
Oregon State Police say around 4:30 a.m., a northbound Infiniti G35 was traveling the wrong direction in the southbound lanes near milepost 267 when it struck a Honda Civic head-on.
The Infiniti’s driver, 20-year-old K’Rondre’ Demarcus Minor of Gresham, was rushed to the hospital but later died. The Civic’s driver, 22-year-old Desmond Antwan Diamond of Saint Helens, was also hospitalized with critical injuries.
The southbound lanes were closed for about five hours while investigators worked the scene. OSP was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Woodburn Fire and EMS, and ODOT.
