Salem residents are invited to an open house on Wednesday, December 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to learn about the upcoming State Street Improvement Project. The event will be held at Court Street Christian Church at 1699 Court Street NE, with drop-in attendance welcome.
The project, part of the State Street Corridor Plan, will redesign State Street between 12th and 17th Street to create a safer, more walkable, and bike-friendly corridor. Planned improvements include narrowing travel lanes, adding a center turn lane, wider sidewalks, bike lanes, an enhanced pedestrian crossing near 15th Street, ADA-compliant curb ramps, and left-turn lanes at 14th Street, along with signal upgrades at 14th and 17th.
