The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded grants to two nonprofit organizations in the Salem area as part of its latest round of funding for education and STEM programs.
The Stayton Public Library Foundation in Marion County and Acres of Hope in Polk County were among 93 organizations receiving grants across Oregon, Washington and California. Pacific Power did not specify the individual amounts awarded to the two local organizations in its announcement.
Altogether, the foundation awarded $343,800 to programs that expand educational opportunities for students, teachers and their communities. The grants support projects focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics, along with literacy, career readiness and skill development.
“When we invest in organizations that provide STEM and education opportunities, we’re investing in the future of our communities,” said Ryan Flynn, director of the Pacific Power Foundation and president of Pacific Power. “These programs provide meaningful hands-on experiences that can change a student’s trajectory.”
The Education and STEM grants are one of several funding opportunities offered by the Pacific Power Foundation throughout the year.
The foundation is now accepting applications for its next grant cycle, which will support arts and culture programs. Interested nonprofit organizations have until September 15, 2026, to apply through the Pacific Power website.
