Governor Tina Kotek has directed the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to pause air and water discharge permits for data centers until July 2027. The action could affect future development proposals as the state considers the environmental implications of the industry’s growth. A company developing a data center in Salem has said the pause will not affect its project’s current stage, according to Salem Reporter.
