Oregon election officials are encouraging voters to return their ballots early ahead of the November third general election. Ballots began going out to voters October fourteenth, and officials are urging people to use official drop boxes to avoid potential postal delays. Under current election guidance, ballots must be received by an official drop site or postmarked by eight p.m. on Election Day. Officials have advised voters who plan to mail their ballots to do so by October twenty-seventh, or visit a post office counter and request a manual postmark. With millions of Oregonians eligible to vote, election officials say planning ahead is the best way to make sure every ballot is returned on time.
