Keizer police say an operation this week led to the arrest of a Salem man and the recovery of more than ten-thousand dollars in merchandise. Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Carlos D. Chale, of Salem, who was arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants for theft and coercion. Investigators say the recovered property included tools, household appliances and electronics. Officers also reported finding a small amount of suspected illegal drugs during the operation. The Salem Reporter says the arrest is part of an investigation involving alleged thefts, with cases spanning Marion and Linn counties. The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
