A new mobile veterinary clinic is expected to bring more affordable pet care to underserved communities around Salem next summer. The Salem Reporter says the Oregon Humane Society plans to use the mobile clinic to provide preventative veterinary services, including spay and neuter procedures, for pets whose owners face financial, housing or other barriers to care. The organization says the new service will allow it to reach thousands more animals in the region. The mobile approach could be particularly helpful for people who have difficulty traveling to a veterinary office or paying for routine procedures. Additional details about service areas, appointment availability and eligibility are expected as the program moves closer to launch.
