Cherriots Brings Back ‘Bus-tache November’ to Raise Cancer Awareness

Posted on November 2, 2026

SALEM, Ore. – November 2, 2026 – Cherriots is bringing back its “Bus-tache November” campaign this month, partnering with No Shave November to raise cancer awareness, encourage community involvement and show support for individuals and families affected by cancer.

The monthlong campaign uses mustaches as a fun way to start meaningful conversations about cancer and remind people in the community that they are not alone.

Participants can grow a mustache, draw one on or create a pretend mustache as part of a costume. Cherriots is encouraging riders and community members to take photos, share them on social media and help spread the message.

Participants can snap a mustache selfie while riding a Cherriots bus or posing safely near one, then post the photo, tag @Cherriots and use the hashtag #BustacheNovember. Friends and family are also encouraged to join.

Throughout November, Cherriots will share cancer awareness information, helpful resources and opportunities for people to get involved through its website and social media channels.

“Bus-tache November is about more than mustaches. It’s about showing up for one another,” said Ian Davidson, vice president of the Cherriots Board of Directors. “Cancer touches so many lives in our community, and no one should have to face it alone.”

Downtown Transit Center Event Planned for November 30

Cherriots is also planning a community gathering to celebrate the campaign and bring people together.

The event is scheduled for:

  • Date: Monday, November 30, 2026
  • Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Location: Downtown Transit Center, Bay F, Salem

Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the campaign, whether by sporting a mustache, sharing a photo or attending the November 30 event.

Cherriots says the goal is to use a little creativity and fun to encourage conversations, share important cancer awareness information and show support for those impacted by the disease.
