Today’s Newsmakers at Noon focused on leadership, accountability, and the consequences of public policy—from pandemic decisions and public safety to economic development and Oregon’s future.
We revisited Oregon’s COVID-era response and Governor Tina Kotek’s role during the pandemic as Dr. Anthony Fauci’s appearance before Congress renewed questions about transparency and accountability. We also discussed the aftermath of the Seattle mass shooting, the reported departure of Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes, and what both stories say about public safety and leadership in the Pacific Northwest.

We wrapped up on a brighter note by celebrating the Rogue Valley, recently named the #1 wine region in the United States—a reminder that Oregon continues to earn national recognition for its world-class wineries and beautiful landscapes.
