Road construction around the ramps connecting Interstates 5 and 84 is taking longer than expected. The Portland Oregonian says the reason is what crews found was more serious challenges and deteriorating concrete. The ramps were last paved around 15 years ago, and new concrete hadn’t been installed since the late 1960s Officials say the work is nearly finished on the westbound I-84 to I-5 southbound ramp, saying it should finish by January first. The other ramps should be finished by mid-December. Check the Oregon Department of Transportation website for full details.
