An article in the Portland Oregonian says momentum is building to end the only-in-Oregon “Kicker” rebates. Tax payers are predicted to receive around $724 million dollars when they file their income taxes in 2020.

According to the most recent state revenue forecast in November, the median Oregonian with an in come of $36,000 dollars a year in adjusted gross income can expect a tax credit of $175 in 2020.

Momentum is building to end the program in order to build reserves for schools. Business leaders who gathered in Portland on Monday said polling showed more than 60 percent of respondents would support such a change.
