Van Duzer Corridor AVA Added to Federal Register

Posted on December 15, 2018

A new American Viticultural Area in the Willamette Valley is being added to the Federal Register.

The Statesman Journal reports the Van Duzer Corridor AVA will cover nearly 40 miles in a triangular area located northwest of Salem and North of Dallis in Polk and Yamhill Counties. 18 commercial wine grape growers and six bonded wineries operate in the area.

They can now label their wines as products of the Van Duzer Corridor, and the name will be recognized as having distinctive viticultural significance.

The corridor is the seventh sub-AVA located in the larger AVA of the Willamette Valley and the nineteenth in Oregon
