Union Gospel Mission of Salem is opening its doors to the community during its Campaign Kick-Off open house event Friday. Anytime between 10 am and 2 pm, you are invited to step inside the Men’s Mission to take a tour, enjoy lunch, and hear from individuals who are overcoming homelessness.
Get a sneak-peak at the rendering of the new building, with staff on hand to highlight and explain new features and improvements. The new renderings propose an increase in the number of beds from 150 to 300, with dining room space increasing from 70 to 232 seats.
Step inside the Mission and gain firsthand experience and understanding of the issues the homeless community face and the methods and services U-G-M utilizes to empower individuals to make positive, permanent changes.
Director of the Men’s Mission, Myron Jones said, “Our homeless community needs help more than ever. A new facility allows us to serve so many more.”
The Men’s Mission is located at 345 Commercial Street Northeast.
