Census Information Session set for Wednesday Afternoon

Posted on April 23, 2019

Marion County and the City of Salem are asking for your help to ensure that all residents of Marion County are counted in the upcoming 20-20 U.S. Decennial Census.

An accurate census count helps planners, businesses, service providers, and others making decisions on housing needs, infrastructure, and business growth. More than $1 billion per year in federal and state funding is allocated to Marion County based on census data.

Census data helps determine how many seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representative – in 2020 Oregon is predicted to gain a seat should all Oregonians participate. Many programs receive federal allocations based on census data.

Want to know how you can help? Attend a Census Information Session tomorrow afternoon from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Center 50+ at 2615 Portland Road NE in Salem.
