Another system of heavy rain and high winds is expected to hit the northwest today and Wednesday, bringing a major dose of saturation after a dry summer. The Statesman Journal reports that the second early-season system is projected to bring 1 to 1.5 inches of rain to the Willamette Valley and 2.5 to 3.5 inches in the mountains by the time the system blows out. The wildest weather is expected today, with 30 MPH winds bringing the possibility of downed trees and power outages.
