Beginning Mon., Jul. 20, temporary lane closures will occur on Liberty Street NE, and adjacent streets, between Hickory Street NE and Norway Street NE. These closures are necessary for construction crews to complete a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project in this area. The City of Salem has contracted with Iron Horse, LLC to complete the improvements and install new liners within the aging sewer pipes. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution and expect delays. This improvement project is included in the City’s Adopted Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan and funded through wastewater utility rates. The construction work is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
