News Release from City of Salem
February 11th, 2021 11:00 AM
Salem and the Mid-Willamette Valley may receive freezing rain beginning this evening, Thurs., Feb. 11, 2021, and into the weekend ahead.
In anticipation of this weather event, snow and ice response staff from Public Works will begin 12-hour shifts at noon today. City snow plows and sanding equipment have been tested and are ready for use. Up-to-date information on Salem road conditions, street condition web cameras, and emergency closures can be found on the City’s Current Road Conditions Map.
Please use extra caution if you must drive under these conditions. Freezing rain may cause very icy roadways and brings the potential for falling trees and power outages.
Please drive safely and report roadway concerns to the 24-hour Public Works Dispatch Center at 503-588-6311.
