Sheriff’s Office Seeks Tips After Two Adults Leave Transition Center Without Authorization

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is seeking community tips after two adults in custody left the Marion County Transition Center without authorization over the weekend.

On April 24, 2021 at 5:36 a.m., Tyler Barnhouse walked away from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Transition Center. Mr. Barnhouse is a white adult male, 5’8″, 195 Ibs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Mr. Barnhouse was serving a sentence on a Restraining Order violation and a probation revocation on a Telephonic Harassment. He was scheduled to be released on June 14, 2021. Mr. Barnhouse was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

On April 25, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., Steven Paul Long walked away from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Transition Center. Mr. Long is a white adult male, 6’1″, 170 Ibs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Mr. Long was in custody for a Parole Violation for Burglary 1 and did not yet have a scheduled release date. Mr. Long was last seen wearing a black coat and light colored pants.

The Sheriff’s Office Transition Center provides an intermediate sanction between Jail and Community Corrections. Unlike the Jail, the Transition Center provides minimum-security supervision. Residents are expected to work, either at their own jobs, or by performing community service.
