Salem, Ore. — The 4th of July will return to Salem with a bang in 2023, now at the Oregon State Fair and Exposition Center. Admission to the Oregon State Fairgrounds and viewing the Fireworks Spectacular is free for all. New this year, the 4th of July Spectacular will include a musical performance from chart-topping musical act Alabama with special guest Jessie Leigh performing at the L.B. Day Amphitheater. Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, April 14th at 10 a.m. at OregonStateFair.org. Carnival rides, food, and drinks will also be available for purchase at the event.
During the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic and concerns over safe public gatherings, the City of Salem postponed its annual 4th of July celebration in Riverfront Park from 2020 – 2022. The City of Salem is excited to partner with the Oregon State Fairgrounds and move the event from Riverfront Park to the Fairgrounds in 2023 due to the potential impact of the large fireworks show near the returning eagle population along the Willamette River in downtown Salem. July represents a critical time in the eagle nesting period when young eagles are beginning to fledge from the nest and take flight for the first time. Moving the large-scale fireworks show represents Salem’s commitment to our eagle population as a federally protected species and protecting the welcomed addition to the natural beauty surrounding the Willamette River throughout the year.

Seating: The Fireworks show can be viewed from multiple locations on the State Fairgrounds property for free, bring your lawn chairs or blankets to view the show comfortably.
Food & Drinks: Food Truck vendors will be on hand to provide food and drink options for purchase during the event.
