Salem, Ore. — Detectives from the Strategic Investigations Unit arrested Todd Willard Mabe yesterday, June 14, on several weapons and drug-related charges.
Mabe, a suspect in an incident of domestic assault and kidnapping on June 3, was spotted by detectives as he walked to a car in a neighborhood yesterday afternoon.
When detectives attempted to contact Mabe, he fled on foot through the neighborhood, running past neighbors and brandishing a firearm. He continued to flee through another neighbor’s home, exiting into the backyard and over a fence. A K9 team at the scene tracked the suspect, and he was located hiding in another backyard.
The 40-year-old was detained and found with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession. The handgun was also located and seized. Mabe was transported for medical care and clearance for the dog bite he received. He was subsequently lodged at the Marion County Jail on the following charges:
- Menacing, two counts
- Unlawful use of a weapon, two counts
- Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Burglary, first-degree
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine
- Unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, attempted
- Unlawful delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school
In addition to the list above, Mabe faces charges for an outstanding Oregon State Parole Board warrant. He is due to be arraigned today at 2:30 p.m. at the Marion County Circuit Court Annex.
